What We Require - promotional
material
Bands – Please prepare and send a DVD or a VHS video,
Bio, and photo of the group. Other materials (not normally required)
include CDs and press clips. Please include them if they are available.
The VHS video should indicate the versatility of the group, covering
a wide range of styles including Standards, Ballroom, 50’s,
60’s, C&W and some Pop. No forms of jazz, rock, original,
or rap are required. Complete SONGLIST required.
Showband Musicians – Please prepare and
send a CD, DVD, an audio cassette or a VHS video exemplifying your musical
abilities. These need not be longer than 10 minutes, but should
feature your versatility on the instrument, including range, tone,
styles, etc.
Intermissionist Piano Players (with no vocals)
- Please prepare and send a DVD, CD, audio cassette or a VHS video
of your performance presenting a wide range of material. This tape
should be no longer than 10 minutes, with short segments of various
styles. Men should be dressed in a coat and tie and women in a cocktail
dress for this video. Also include a Bio, photo, and complete SONGLIST.
Piano/Vocal and Guitar/Vocal Entertainers - Please
prepare a DVD or VHS video tape, not longer than 10 minutes showing your
versatility and playing/singing talents. Please include a wide variety
of styles, including Standards, some Pop, Broadway, some C&W,
Island-type music, and Latin. Originals are not required. Also include
a Bio and 8x10 headshot.
Complete SONGLIST required.
Specialty Acts – Comics, Jugglers, Instrumentalists,
Impressionists, Ventriloquists, and other variety entertainers should
prepare and send a DVD or VHS video tape of your material, recorded in
a ‘live’ show setting. Instrumentalists/Vocalists, in
particular, should include a taped performance with orchestra, indicating
the quality of your arrangements/charts. Also include a Bio and
8x10 headshot in your promo package.
Other Requirements
All applicants must possess a current and valid passport.
Bands, Musicians, Piano/Vocal and Guitar/Vocal entertainers will
be required to undergo a physical examination, often by an approved
doctor specified by the cruise line. Medical forms provided and
issued by the cruise line are required in this exam.
